The countdown has started for the TURKSAT 5A satellite

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu reported that the Turksat 5A communication satellite launched in January will begin to serve the world at a ceremony to be held today at the Golbashi campus of Turksat AÅž with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Karaismailoglu said that during this period, when Turkey is accelerating its pace in the field of space studies, as well as in satellite technologies, the production, integration, testing and launch processes of new and domestic communication satellites are intertwined.

Turkey is moving towards becoming an international player in the field of satellite and Space Studies emphasizing that Karaismailoglu, publishing and internet access services at the point of strategic communication systems are continuously updating the time from around the globe offered to the citizens of innovations that are needed to be voiced.

KaraismailoÄŸlu, who informed that the Turksat 5A communication satellite, which was successfully launched at the beginning of January, is continuing its orbital journey, noted:

"The test runs of Turksat 5A, which has reached geosynchronous orbit in space as of May 4 and started orbital tests on May 5, have been successfully completed. Our satellite will start serving the world on June 28 with a ceremony to be held at the Gölbaşı campus of Türksat AŞ with the participation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. When our communication satellite is put into service, it will cover Turkey and Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Middle-West and South Africa, as well as the Mediterranean, the Aegean and the Black Sea."

Emphasizing that the satellite will lead Turkey to the league of leading countries using the new Ku-Band in the world in the service of data communication with television broadcasting, Karaismailoglu said that Turksat 5A will provide services in the field of TV broadcasting and communication for more than 30 years thanks to the electric propulsion system.

Karaismailoglu added that Turkey's communication satellite traffic will increase from now on.
